Day 12

Admittedly, yesterday's success was ultimately possible because I spent a little cash, but I think the sentiment was more about getting things done around the house.

I'm really not a handy fella... much to my chagrin. Though she doesn't mention it much, I'm sure she'd appreciate it if I would get off my derier and get some crap done. The fact is... we live in a nice house where.. if something gets broke... it stays broke for a long time... months, even years sometime.

I wish I were more handy... i'm just not. About two years ago, I tried to be. I got creative with a Sawzall and made a huge whole in my wall... without finishing the job. There was no trim, and generally, it looked like a half done job. But honestly... I was too ambitious with my skillset. I needed a pro.

So, I hired one while she was out to work. Not only did he do that, but I also had him install recessed lighting in the master bedroom, fix a broken fan, and caulk some things that needed some caulk...

Anyway, that's it. I told her that I hired the dude and she was happy. The lights look wonderful, and now I kind of look like I know what i'm doing, even though some other dude did it. I feel more like a man knowing that at least that part of my house/life isn't broken...

So, that was my sweet 100...

Always looking for more ideas...

Day 11

Hi folks!
Last night was a small one Sweet 100... but I think it still go the point across.
My wife mentioned that we needed veggies, so I grabbed the keys and a list from her and went and got them.

I suppose that wasn't something EXTRA sweet... because... I needed the veggies too, and I probably would have gotten them anyways. BUT, this isn't about overwhelming her with flowers every day, it's just about being the best man I can be for her. That was it...

Today will be a better one... The idea'r is already set in motion!

Day 10

My wife LOVES pictures... and grumpy old me... well, not so much. Usually, I could care less about looking back at at old pics, but she LOVES it.

Last week, I was cruising through our basement and found some old albums. I looked through it and got a chuckle out of some of the old days. That's when I got the idea to reminisce with her. So, that's what I did. Just before we went to sleep, I ran downstairs to get the album and we had a fun time chatting about the pictures, how young we looked, where we were when took them, etc.

Then, she went down and got more. It was fun. She was in to it... I got into it... and it was a pretty happy experience...

So there you go! Grab an old album and look through some stuff together... Something Sweet!

Day 9

Hi folks!
So... Sweet 100 for yesterday (I didn't log it yesterday because I did it pretty late) was a success!

Simple (and obvious) enough... I went and bought some nice smelling candles, candle holders... cleaned up the master, and bought some nice massage oil. After a bath, I had her lay down on the bed and gave her a 40 minute full body massage... re-iterating over and over that it wasn't meant to be... ahemmm... intimate.

I used this app on my phone: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ihunda.android.hiit to set 8 timers for five minutes on each part of her body.  Five minutes on the right side of her back, five minutes on the left side of her back, five minutes on her left arm, five minutes on her right arm... etc...

I just wanted her to feel completely loved and attended to.

It worked! She loved it.

Day 8

BUSTED!!!
Ugh... I hate this, but the wife found and read my Sweet 100 blog. I feel like a fool. But, i'm going to keep it going just the same... Not for the sake of the blog, just because it makes me feel good.

Anyway, today... In the name of trying to do something to make her day better... I went down to the store at lunch time to have the battery in her watch replaced. Simple enough...

Hope all is well folks!

Day 7

Today's goal was to try to say yes to everything that she wanted to do.
I know, not an earth shattering Sweet 100 goal... but, it was actually pretty nice.

The basic idea was to get completely excited about all of her suggestions, no matter how I initially felt about them. Even as I write that, it seems silly, as if I don't agree with her suggested activities or something, but that's not the case... I just decided that today, i'd be overly excited about everything...

So, here are three activities that I probably wouldn't have done (on top of my other activities) had I not tried this Sweet 100...

1. I took a barbell class! Yip, I did it. And, it turns out, it not only kicked my ass, but it was really fun... and we had a great time.

2. After barbell, I had promised a buddy that I would run with him (we did a nice easy 5 miles run/walk, though it was still very challenging for me)... but after THAT... I came home, and the wife asked if I wanted to do a family hike. Normally, this would have been too much activity, but I said OK... Turns out that was fun as hell too!!!

3. Now, I'm grilling some salmon on the barbie... I'm a chicken dude, but hey.,.. I'm actually looking forward to some lemon buttered salmon.

I do notice that she is smiling a lot more... :)

And, so am I... It's just a good thing to celebrate your lover's ideas, even more when you do it on purpose :)

Anyway... thanks for reading..

Always looking for suggestions.

Day 6

So, for this one, you have understand a little about me, and how much I am not the jazzersize type at all. Its completely uncharacteristic of me to go any where near a Zumba class, but when I got home from my workout my wife was just starting her Zumba workout.

So, taking a nice helping of pride soup, I gulped down any respect I have ever gathered, and did it with her. I think she liked it... or she was digusted by the flopping fish next to her, one of the two :)

Hope all is well, be good to each other and be happy my friends :)

Day 5

This one might be old hat for some of you, but if you haven't heard it, it's a really nice one.

My wife takes long showers... When she got in the shower this morning, I threw a towel in the dryer for her. Then, when I heard that she was getting out... I ran to the laundry room for the nice, fluffy, and WARM towel. Then, I wrapped it around her. I got a free hug out of the deal, and she loved it.

It's an oldie... but like I said, give it a go. It takes nothing to do, and is sweet as hell!!!

Always looking for ideas if you got'm.

Day 4

Two egg whites, a quarter cup of baby spinach, some chopped turkey, and a sprinkling of mozerella goodness.

Add some whole wheat toast and a glass of chrystal light and she wakes up to an omelette of love.

I reserve the right to repeat some of these by the way... And I'd be happy to get suggestions from anybody that happens to read this.

Late.

Day 3

Tonight, on the way home from going out to eat, I made quick unannounced stop at the store to pick up some Red Vines, her favorite candy. I told her that she can't watch survivor without nibbling some awesome'ness. She was delighted.

side note: I really don't want this to turn into buying things for her all the time. It's not about money, I just want to be sweet and to show that I'm thinking of her. But, i'm cognizant of it... so, I'm sure that I can change that pattern.

Day 2

My wife really digs the Sonic Burger iced tea. She digs them in an uncanny way... like... SHE LOVES THEM. They are, after all the ultimate drink stop so I can't blame her.

This morning, I had to get up early to drop my pop off at the airport, so I picked her a Sonic Burger iced tea (with extra ice) and put it on the sink for her to find when she gets out of the shower. Our Sonic Burger is pretty far out of the way, so I know she wouldn't expect it.

Day 1

I want to be the best husband ever. I want my wife to know how much she means to me and how much I love her. So, I'm going to start documenting my Sweet100 :)... Today, March 17th, is St. Pats day. I wrote her a letter that simply said that my dog and I miss her while she is at work... and I left her a little container full of Lucky Charms (our St. Pats day tradition). These, I left in her car to find on her way to work.
